THE STORY OF STATION 22
About Station 22
Station 22 is a café set within the lush surrounds of the Burringbar Rainforest Nursery, created by Gabriella and Matt -the duo behind this thoughtfully shared space.
The space blends beautiful creekside picnic areas, shady forest corners, and open pavilions overlooking the water and mountains. With direct access to the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and just a short stroll from the iconic train tunnel, it’s a thoughtfully designed spot to pause, refuel and reconnect with nature.
Matt, the visionary behind the long-standing Burringbar Rainforest Nursery, has spent years cultivating the surrounding landscape. Gabriella, the warm and familiar face managing the café, brings care, creativity and a passion for hospitality to the day-to-day experience.
Their mission is simple: to create a peaceful space where the community and travellers can enjoy good food and drink, rest from their rail trail adventures, and feel grounded in a beautiful natural setting.
